CHIROPRACTORS RELEASE JOINT LOCKAGES FREEING ENTRAPED NERVES

  • The nervous system is a primary focus for chiropractors.  It's what first gets their patient's attention.  Simply said by many, "I think I have a pinched nerve."
  • Soft and hard tissues, bones, joints, discs, ligaments, and tendons, are all able to afflict and cause nerve pain.
  • Skilled chiropractors many times are able to release, reset, and allow  your body to settle back down and heal after sustaining trauma.

CHIROPRACTIC EXAM AND TREATMENT

What will a chiropractor do?

Many, including young patients, who suffer neck pain, low back pain, and even headaches can be treated successfully with chiropractic care.  A common feature among these is that pain can be due to mechanical stress.  Often the spine and other joints can be found immobilized or improperly positioned.  Following an examination, sometimes x-rays are needed and ordered depending upon the condition.

An initial office visit includes:

  • your health history
  • an appropriate physical exam for your complaint
  • appropriate diagnostic x-rays (if necessary)
  • advanced imaging such as an MRI (if necessary)
  • arrival at a diagnosis and a treatment direction
If any of your spinal healthcare issues fall within the chiropractic scope of practice and Dr. Soard thinks he can help you, treatment will begin the same day with your consent.  If the doctor does not believe that he can help you, an appropriate referral will be made.

CHIROPRACTIC EXPLAINED

Picture
Most chiropractors focus treatment on the manipulation of the body's structural joints and articulations.  Nerves also play a very important part of chiropractic care.  If it were not for some sort of nerve irritation, a patient in general would not be driven to seek relief from a chiropractor.  Reducing and/or removing the offending cause of nerve pressure is paramount in chiropractic practice.
  • When a joint is liberated by a chiropractic adjustment, it can start to regain normal movement.  This can bring relief as the mechanical pressure is reduced.
  • Irritation of a nerve could also arise from soft tissue such as a disc that's been pushed into it's pathway.  The primary goal when working on the spine is to move the vertebrae so that the discs can withdraw or recede from causing nerve pressure.  Many times this is a process of re-training.
  • Swelling can cause nerve pain due to the body's reaction to the pressure upon a nerve.  Swelling can also be generated from the abrasive over activity.

RELEASING SPINAL MOTION

Skilled chiropractic care should be a relatively painless procedure.  Depending on the intensity of a patient's pain, treatments are for the most part pain free.  Patients new to a chiropractic adjustment can be apprehensive.  Warming packs, ultrasound, and traction, can also be used to facilitate manual manipulation should the situation be indicated.

It's note worthy to observe that many chiropractic patients are seeking preventative care in order to maintain good spinal health and avoid the mechanical stresses of life.
